How do I schedule my first consultation?

What should I expect during the first session?
Your first session is all about you. We’ll discuss your current challenges, goals, and aspirations. Dr. Turner will learn about your background, what brought you to coaching, and what success looks like for you. Together, you’ll create a personalized roadmap for your transformation journey. This session is judgment-free, confidential, and focused entirely on understanding how we can best support you.
Do I need to prepare anything before my first session?
Come as you are! However, it can be helpful to think about your goals, current challenges, and what you hope to achieve through coaching. Some clients like to journal about these topics beforehand, but it’s not required. The most important thing is to come with an open mind and willingness to engage in the process.
Is there a consultation fee?
Your initial 30-minute consultation is completely free. This allows us to get to know each other, discuss your needs, and determine if we’re the right fit. There’s no obligation to continue after the consultation.

How does the Veteran Transition Support program work?
As a U.S. Army veteran herself, Dr. Turner understands the unique challenges of military-to-civilian transition. This program helps veterans translate military skills to civilian careers, navigate identity shifts, build civilian networks, and address transition-related stress. We focus on both practical career strategies and emotional well-being during this significant life change.
What does AI Integration & Business Strategy consulting include?
We help businesses and entrepreneurs understand and implement AI solutions that align with their goals. Can I combine multiple services?

Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes! We offer both in-person sessions in the Washington, D.C. area and virtual sessions via secure video conferencing. Virtual sessions allow us to work with clients anywhere in the country while maintaining the same quality and personal connection as in-person meetings.
How long are coaching sessions?
Standard coaching sessions are 60 minutes. Some intensive programs may include 90-minute sessions. The initial consultation is 30 minutes. Session length may vary based on your specific program and needs.
How often should I schedule sessions?
Most clients meet weekly or bi-weekly to maintain momentum and accountability. Some prefer monthly sessions for ongoing support. We’ll work together to determine the frequency that best supports your goals and schedule.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
We understand that life happens. We ask for at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. This allows us to potentially offer that time to another client. Late cancellations may be subject to a fee.
Are sessions confidential?
Absolutely. Everything discussed in our sessions is strictly confidential. We adhere to professional coaching ethics and standards. The only exceptions would be situations involving imminent harm, which we would discuss with you first whenever possible.
What are your coaching rates?
Our rates vary based on the service type, program length, and whether you choose individual or organizational coaching. We offer single-session rates as well as discounted package rates for clients who commit to multiple sessions. Contact us for detailed pricing information tailored to your specific needs.
Do you offer package deals?
Yes! We offer multi-session packages (typically 6, 12, or 24 sessions) at discounted rates compared to single sessions. Packages provide better value and allow for deeper, more sustained transformation. We’ll discuss package options during your consultation.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit cards, debit cards, bank transfers, and digital payment platforms. Payment is typically due at the time of service or according to your package agreement. We’ll discuss payment arrangements during your consultation.
Do you accept insurance?
We do not directly bill insurance companies. However, some health insurance plans or HSA/FSA accounts may cover coaching services. We can provide detailed receipts that you can submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. We recommend checking with your insurance provider about coverage.
Do you offer sliding scale or financial assistance?
We believe transformational coaching should be accessible. We have a limited number of reduced-rate slots for veterans, students, and individuals experiencing financial hardship. Please discuss your situation with us during your consultation.
What is Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)?
MBSR is an evidence-based program that teaches mindfulness meditation and awareness practices to help manage stress, anxiety, and improve overall well-being. Our certified MBSR program typically runs 8 weeks and includes guided meditation, body awareness, and practical applications for daily life.

Is coaching the same as therapy?
No, coaching and therapy serve different purposes. Therapy typically addresses mental health conditions and past trauma, while coaching focuses on goal achievement, personal development, and future growth. We work with functional individuals seeking to enhance their lives, not treat mental illness. If therapy is needed, we can provide referrals to qualified mental health professionals.
What is your success rate?
While every client’s journey is unique, our clients consistently report increased clarity, confidence, and achievement of their stated goals. Success depends on client commitment and engagement in the process. During your consultation, we can discuss specific outcomes relevant to your situation and review testimonials from past clients.
What are your office hours?
We’re available Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST, and Saturday 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM EST. We’re closed on Sundays. Virtual sessions can sometimes accommodate different time zones with advance notice.
How long does a coaching program typically last?
This varies based on your goals. Some clients achieve their objectives in 3-6 months, while others prefer ongoing support for 6-12 months or longer. We’ll assess your needs during the consultation and create a timeline that makes sense for your situation.
What if I'm not seeing progress?
We regularly check in about your progress and adjust our approach as needed. If you’re not seeing the results you want, we’ll discuss what’s working and what isn’t, and modify our strategy. Your success is our priority, and we’re committed to finding what works for you.
Can I pause my coaching program?
Yes, life circumstances sometimes require a pause. We can discuss options for temporarily suspending your program and resuming when you’re ready. Package expirations and policies will be discussed when setting up your program.
Do you offer group coaching or workshops?

What technology do I need for virtual sessions?

We use secure video conferencing platforms that are easy to access. We’ll send you detailed instructions before your first virtual session.
Can I bring a partner or family member to sessions?
While most coaching is one-on-one, there may be occasions where including a partner or family member is beneficial. This should be discussed and agreed upon in advance. We also offer relationship and family coaching as separate services.
How do I know if I'm ready for coaching?
You’re ready for coaching if you’re committed to personal growth, willing to be honest with yourself, open to trying new approaches, and ready to take action. You don’t need to have everything figured out – that’s what we’re here to help with. The free consultation is a great way to assess readiness.
What's the difference between coaching and consulting?
Coaching focuses on personal development, helping you discover your own answers and build capabilities. Consulting involves providing expert advice and solutions to specific business or organizational challenges. We offer both, and often they complement each other. Do you work with clients outside the United States?
Yes! Our virtual coaching services are available to clients worldwide. We’ve worked with clients across different countries and time zones. We’ll coordinate scheduling to find times that work for both of us, regardless of location.
